Nocturne 2024
Once again, the City of Liège illuminates its historic centre.
The renewed trail stretches from Place Saint-Lambert to the esplanade Saint-Léonard.Architectural heritage will be highlighted, while musicians, visual artists and circus performerswill enliven the public space.
Other elements will be added to this festival of lights. These include the Nocturne des Mariages,the Customer Weekend, a special edition of ‘La Batte po todi!’, the opening of the October fairand an artistic performance developed as part of the Connexions Urbaines project (Saturday 5 October).

The highlights of this edition
AKA - cie l'Homme debout
AKA is a live performance that combines a giant puppet and choreography, designed as a space for artistic encounters and experimentation. Lasting 15 minutes, it will be presented at various time slots on the esplanade Saint-Léonard.
Light Cases & Guerilla Lighting
The "light cases" will highlight certain heritage buildings in a colorful, graphic, or dynamic way: a spotlight both literally and figuratively to (re)discover the heritage of Liège. "Guerilla lighting" is a participatory workshop concept used by lighting designers to raise public awareness of the importance of lighting in urban spaces.
Light Shows
A host of artists—musicians, visual artists, and circus performers—will roam and enliven the public space, both at key points and in processions throughout the day.

Artist Françoise Schein invites the residents of Liège to her home, located at Place Xavier Neujean, for a banquet. The artist creates elements that suggest the garden and the walls of the house, with a central table that celebrates gathering and communal living...

Customer weekend
On October 5th and 6th, the Client Weekend will highlight the richness and dynamism of businesses in the city, featuring lively street animations. On Sunday, a special edition of the "Batte po Todi" will invigorate the heart of Liège, providing a dazzling celebration with both permanent and mobile vendors!
The Nocturne Wedding
Weddings will be celebrated on the evening of Saturday, October 5th, in the enchanting setting of the Lumière festival. What could be more poetic and unforgettable than this extraordinary ritual?

Montagne de Bueren
On Saturday, October 5th, discover this staircase of 374 steps, beautifully illuminated by hundreds of candles, for a breathtaking experience.
Collegiate Churches Weekend
During this unique weekend, the collegiate churches will be open to the public. In addition to the presence of volunteers in the churches, numerous guided tours with exclusive access and exhibitions will showcase the rich heritage of these remarkable buildings.

Grand Curtius
Access to the museum’s permanent collections will be free. The exhibition “Kroll Sends Bottles to the Sea” will remain open until 9 p.m. Musical performances, contemporary dance, and a guided tour of the Arms section by Loïc Servais will be offered. An immersive virtual reality experience, “Beethoven 360,” will plunge participants into Beethoven's 5th Symphony. The museum’s façade will be illuminated and animated with film projections by the Créahm workshops.

A shuttle will be available every 10 minutes (theoretical) between the parking lot of the Citadelle Hospital and the Cadran, on October 5th from 6:30 PM to 1:00 AM.

The city of Liège has several paid off-street parking options.
These parking facilities total approximately 8,900 spaces for drivers wishing to visit Liège with ease. A dynamic signage system informs you of the real-time availability of spaces and guides you to your chosen parking lot.
The parking facilities are concentrated around the city center on the left bank, in the Guillemins station area, and at Médiacité on the right bank. Several of these parking areas offer parking only through a subscription or reservation.
